What is Pharmacogenetc Testing?
I offer the option for pharmacogenetic testing, through TEMPUS, which analyzes how your genes may affect your outcomes with medications commonly prescribed to treat depression, anxiety, ADHD, and other mental health conditions. The pharmacogenetic psychotropic test provides additional information about which medications may require dose adjustments, may be less likely to work for you or may have an increased risk of side effects based on your genetic makeup. Good CANDIDATES for Testing?
- Individuals who are worried about or have a history of medication-related adverse reactions or side effects
- Individuals with a family history of adverse drug reactions
- People with comorbidities (co-occurring conditions) and/or those taking multiple medications (polypharmacy)
- Clients interested in learning more about their own pharmacogenetic makeup
